Nelson Tivane

Nelson Tivane, our Co-founder, is a social anthropologist, researcher and development practitioner with 9 years of working experience, specializing in research, practice and policy engagement relating to cross-border migrations, displacement and resettlement and resilience-building in Southern Africa. His work has a narrowed focus on climate change, conflict and disasters.

He is member of SADC Emergence Response Team (ERT) and has worked coordinating a consortium-based (NRC, IOM and UNHCR) 5-year multi-donors’ project for the development and implementation of the Mozambique’s Policy and Strategy for Internal Displacement Management, and its Action Plan – within the new scope of the UN Secretary-General’s Action Agenda on Internal Displacement and Solutions for IDPs.

He has an evolving set of academic articles published global affairs think tank in London, scientist journals and participates in several national and international academia’s conferences.

Before that he co-found CCS (2017), was appointed to coordinated COSACA Consortium (Oxfam, Save the Children and Care) between 2019/20, and supervised the joint graduation approach project targeting Refugees and Asylum seekers in Maratane Camp, Mozambique’s Nampula province.
