Casimiro (Manuel Sande) Antonio

Has 14+ years of experience working in the field of international development and providing consultancy services. His work has covered livelihood diversification promotion, market system development, and entrepreneurship. It includes also humanitarian assistance including water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), emergency preparedness, response and recovery, HIV/AIDS capacity building to humanitarian NGOs/CBO, community security.

Mr. Sande has served as Deputy Chief of Party for USAID Feed the Future, Resilient Coastal Community (FtF RCC); Chief of Party for USAID Small-Town Sanitation (STS); Deputy Chief of Party for the USAID Civic Partnership for Good Governance (PCBG); Deputy Chief of Party for the USAID Coastal City Adaptation Project (CCAP), Country Director for IsraAID, International humanitarian Organization. His work focused on building local stakeholder capacity, strengthen market system; promote entrepreneurship, build community climate resilience through results-based management (RBM) designed interventions and collaborating with national and local stakeholders delivering stronger coastal resilience solutions throughout the country.

He is skilled in building community climate resilience to shocks including urban planning, governance of natural resources, and implementation of ecosystem-based adaptation. His approach to design is human centered, creating solutions and mobilizing communities while ensuring the empowerment of women and youth in the process as well. Mr. Sande has strong and proven experience in strategic planning, results-based management approaches as well as program financial and operations management. He has built a career working with vulnerable community members, local authorities, UN agencies, NGO’s, and national and provincial Government of Mozambique. Employing an effective engagement strategy, Mr. Sande has developed through his career an ability to organize and mobilize national and international stakeholders to create policy change and differences in communities across Mozambique.
