Preparation of standardized self-employment kits and Training package, Vocation Trainings of Returnees, Procurement and distribution of kits

The Government of Mozambique (GoM) is implementing the Northern Crisis Recovery Project (NCRP). The project is funded by the World Bank and coordinated by the National Fund for Sustainable Development (FNDS), under the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADER) and coordinated by the Northern Integrated Development Agency (ADIN). UNOPS is responsible for project management and implementation. The project will prioritize the most critical needs of IDPs and host communities through building social cohesion and resilience to conflict, provision of livelihoods and economic opportunities and rehabilitation of public infrastructure. The Project Development Objective is to improve access to basic services and economic opportunities for internally displaced persons and host communities in targeted areas of Northern Mozambique. The Project Components include Component 1: Building social cohesion and resilience to conflict; Component 2: Provision of livelihoods and economic opportunities for IDPs and hosting communities and Component 3: Rehabilitation, construction, and equipment of public infrastructure. |
Mapping of vulnerable groups in the target sites and host communities and identification of their specific needs about economic strength Assessment of skills’ gaps among the target group Analysis of market demand for skilled workforce and self-employment opportunities. Training of youth, women and representatives of vulnerable groups in life skills, entrepreneurial skills and skills for employment. Training of youth, women and representatives of vulnerable groups in vocational and professional skills, including, but not limited to skills that can be absorbed in other NCRP components, e.g. poultry production, masonry, carpentry, electrical installation, plumbing, installation and maintenance of WASH infrastructure, installation and maintenance of solar pumps, solar batteries, solar panels, wall painting, tile installation; Provision of tool kits for self-employment in different vocational specialties and small businesses. Training and hiring of IDPs and host community members for outreach activities related to project implementation. Tailored skills development approaches for girls not in school, e.g. literacy training, basic financial literacy training etc. |
